In another heart stopping finish, versatile mare Delta Sky held on gamely to provide the stable and jockey, Billy Egan with a double at the Geelong meeting on January 5th. Following the rail for the entire race, the Toronado mare snuck through along the fence to keep finding the line and narrowly held on in the Rex Gorrell Volswagon 64 Handicap over 1500m. With the judge calling on his magnify glass found a margin of 0.06L (same as Cameron Falls) in her favour to spilt the four horses across the line. The mare recorded back to back wins at the track which is fast becoming her favorite racetrack with her three career wins all recorded at Geelong.
Proving an astute buy from the Inglis Digital Sale, the 5YO mare has now repaid her purchase price of $20,000.00 for connections headed by Tony Buckley, Mark Adams both pictured on course. Raced in partnership with a large group of Owners including Frances McLean-Grant, Margaret Wischusen, Dale Weidenbach, Franck Macheda, Ronald and Sharie Bannear, Penny Beynon, Gin Howley, Caz Tierney, Lachlan, Joel, Craig, Hayden Brown, Kim Derrriman, Jordan Caleo and the Sanquia 7 Racing Syndicate, who are all enjoying the ride this popular mare is taking them on.
