Long Brew having her first start continued the family dynasty for Owner, Mr Bill Bowness winning her Maiden at Kyneton on Thursday. Bred from his mare Tea for Three and dam of fellow stable horses, Big Brew (retired) & Iluvcofee, the daughter of Needs Further easily accounted for her opposition with a soft win on the line to score by 0.75L in the Hygain 3YO Maiden Plate over 1200m. Ridden by Billy Egan who actually rode and won on her Dam –  Tea For Three as an apprentice, gave the filly time to find her rhythm from the inside barrier on the tighter Kyneton circuit. Following the rail for majority of the race until entering the home straight where the filly was guided to the middle of the track with encouragement and she responded quickly to prove too strong for her opposition over the concluding stages of the race. Her win was a good pay day for her owner/breeder collecting the Vobis bonus prizemoney on offer and continues the great partnership with Billy Egan coming off a stable double the previous week.

Co-Trainer, Lee Hope confirms Long Brew will now have a break to further mature and will also appreciate the softer tracks on her return as a later 3YO filly. Pictured with Dee Hope after her terrific win.
