Every year jockey, Cory Parish sets himself a target to ride 50 winners for the season and he finally accomplished his goal with his 50th winner courtesy of stable horse, Camp Cable. After a hiatus from the sport a few years ago due to a back injury, the Caulfield Cup winning jockey was lured back in the saddle and has seen him ressurect his career, developing strong relationships with a wide variety of Trainers across the board. Now based in Wodonga, the “have saddle will travel” attitude has enabled him to achieve his goals across New South Wales and Victoria race tracks for the popular rider.
On Monday the lightly raced four-year-old gelding, Camp Cable recorded his second win on his home track at Seymour with a decisive victory in the bet36 Bet Boost Handicap BM56 over 1400m. Relishing the softer track conditions the Hope trained gelding proved far superior over the final stages to over power his opposition and draw away for a length margin on the line. The good looking son of Cable Bay hails from the famous Tennessee family and with plenty of renowned wet track sire specialists in his pedigree it’s no wonder he excels in these conditions.

Bred by Kaylan Park principals,Patricia Howard and Robert Carkeek share in the ownership with our very own Dee Hope, all pictured in the winners enclosure at Seymour on Monday. Congratulations to all CC owners and I’m sure there will be more wins in store for this wet track specialist over the Winter period of racing.
