Eight-year-old stable stalwart, Big Brew bouced back in a thrilling finish to snatch victory in the BM70 mile at the Bendigo Cup meeting on Wednesday
.
Placed to perfection by the team after some excellent runs in the rich Aspirant races in the metropolitan area, the stable favourite was rewarded for his consistancy in these races with a tenacious win. Ridden by regular jockey Jordan Childs, the race panned out to his liking settling a few pairs back on the outside. In his preferred pattern, Jordan was able to bring him to the outside for clear galloping room and after hitting a flat spot in the straight built momentum to finsh hard and score by a head on the line.
The gelding by Magnus from Tea For Three, was bred and raced by Bill Bownes and now takes his prizemoney earnings above $300K. Trainer Lee Hope present on course said the key is to keep him happy and mix up his work with some jumping and trail rides as he doesn’t require too much galloping.
