“Iluvcoffee” breaks through for a well deserved victory on the Pakenham synthetic under a patient ride from Jarrod Fry. The 3YO gelding by Ilovethiscity from Tea For Three was a fraction slow out from the barriers and settled towards the tail of the field. He quickly recovered and worked his way through the field to be in a striking position rounding the home turn. A little push and shove from the jockey paved the way for the horse to sprint strongly and challenged the leaders at the 300m mark. Over the concuding stages he proved far superior to score the Bridgestone Select BM58 Handicap by 1.25L at the finish.

“I was a little bit worried when he slow out of the gates but maybe the winkers were a factor, commented Co-Trainer Lee.”

“His first run back this campaign I thought he would run a nice race on his home track at Seymour but he went absolutely woeful in the ground. That’s the second time he has failed on rain effected tracks so we had to try something different and the synthetic track this time of year was our only option.” He didn’t have a lot of luck last start at Pakenham and decided to give him another chance and step him up to the mile. It made the long trip worthwhile and we may put him away now for the summer tracks as he has been a slow maturing type.”

Iluvcoffee is raced by Owner-Breeder, Mr Bill Bowness and is a half brother to stable stalwart, Big Brew.
