Capping off a great weekend for the Hope team Iluvcoffee timed his run to perfection with a last bound victory at Bendigo on Sunday. Dropping back in grade and ridden by promising apprentice Logan Bates, the four-year-old gelding lining up for his fifth start this campaign came from near last on the home turn to navigate a path down the outside. In a driving finish with five others he got the big stride in on the line to win by the narrowish of margins, 0.1L x 0.2L in beating minor placegetters, Coco Jen and Alabama Blitz over the 1600m journey.
Bred and raced by Owner, Mr Bill Bowness from his good producing mare, Tea For Three, continues the excellent record for the mare with majority of her progeny multiple winners. Iluvcoffee records his third win from 15 starts and with age is developing into a handy galloper like his older and now retired half brother, Big Brew.
