Fenway delivers a family fairytale!

We couldn’t have scripted the Group 1 “Vinery Stud Stakes” any better and Fenway under Blake Shinn delivered a fairytale result to provide “Lee & Shannon” together with Owners, “Greg & Jenny White” their first taste of Group 1 success.

As with most good stories there is always controversy and it started when Blake was replaced as rider from “First Seal” who started the short priced favourite in the race. Many critics felt it was a very harsh decision by the connections but it paved the way for Blake to ride the talented “High Chaparral” filly for our stable. However a costly suspension a week earlier from his Group 1 ride on “Sweet Idea” added more drama to the whole story but thankfully he choose to honour his commitment and delay his time to ride for the family.

I am a great believer “things happen for a reason” and here is the answer!

Every Trainer strives to win Group 1 races and to share this special moment with Blake was a dream come true for us all.

Fenway will now head into the ATC Oaks on April 11th and you guessed it, Blake has booked himself for the ride and hopefully the next chapter of this story has another happy ending!
