Hissy strikes under Lights

A rare trip to the Cranbourne Saturday night meeting was made worthwhile with consistent mare, “Miss Hissy” dominating the “Obrien Real Estate Fillies & Mares Handicap”. Starting a short priced favourite, the mare relished the step up to the mile to score by a convincingly 1.75L margin at the finish.

A classic Andrew Mallyon ride had the mare settled in a mid field position, although not the original intention, before making his move into the race approaching the home turn. Once in clear running the 5YO staked her authority to quickly over haul the leaders and draw away for a dominant victory at the fiinish. Riding in suberb form the win bought his tally to 6 winners for the month of December.

Bred and raced by long time clients, brothers “Mario and Sam Cristiano”, Miss Hissy is by Golden Snake from former stable racemare“Wehaveadream”. She was a tough racemare in her time and it appears her daughter has inherited the same genes.

The stable will set the mare on a staying path over the summer months with the aim to focus on the mares races in town.
