Miss Hissy and jockey Andrew Mallyon are proving a lethal combination on the country circuit recording their third win together at the local Kilmore meeting on Monday. Courtesy of another excellent and patient ride from Andrew maintained their superb winning strike rate in taking out the main race on the card, the “Sportsman Lunch @ Trackside Hcp” over 1900m.
After settling in a handy position heading out the straight, the changing face of the race shuffled the 5YO
Golden Snake mare further back than anticipated. With the tempo quickening from the 800m down the hill, Andrew worked Miss Hissy into a striking position approaching the home turn and gathered in the leaders over the final stages of the race. The victory takes her record to 4 wins (3 in the past 10 months) for career earnings in excess of $59,000.
Miss Hissy is proving one tough mare and is finally coming of age through the patience of her Owners and Breeders, “Mario and Sam Cristiano”.Involved in the racing game for many years they have enjoyed success with many good horses over time but nothing beats the feeling of winning than one you have bred. Miss Hissy is from their former good racemare, “Wehaveadream” and that is exactly what they are doing.
Co Trainer, Lee said “Miss Hissy is likely to head to a restricted mares race in town over 2000m in the coming weeks”.
