With the New Zealand 2024 Ready to Run Sale about to kick off on November 20th and 21st, the timing of Ourania’s victory was perfect for the team as they embark on their yearly sojourn to Karaka to source their next future champion. Ourania a beautifuly bred daughter of Almanzor was a 2023 RTR graduate from the Riverrock draft and was purchased by Lee for $160,000 (NZD). She joins many winners that we have sourced from this sale which includes Stakes Winners; Folding Gear, Vandalo, Jadescent and Stakes placegetters; Savitar and Tears N Triumph.
Resuming from a spell, the three-year-old filly stepped out to 1400m and in a dominant display easily won the Lakeside Conveyancing Plate by 1 length and a further 2.25L for the minor placegetters. Ridden superbly by Jackie Beriman, the filly was well placed just off the leaders and peeled out to blend into the race approaching the home turn. Once asked for an effort the filly powered away for a convincing win. Bred to race over the staying distances, the team will plot a course to take advantage of the 3YO Fillies races over the Summer and Autumn carnivals.
Ourania joins the many winners sourced by the Hope Team from the RTR sale and is raced by well known clients, Tom Carroll, Ronald and Sharie Bannear, Doug and Gloria Weston, Kevin and Sue Davey, Peter O’Dea, Tony Buckley, Peter Dwyer, Carol Shinn and the Golden Hoofs Syndicate – Scott McKelvie, Craig Richardson and Ryan Shinn.
