“Trouper marches to Triumph”

Whilst the main action centred on Group racing at Morphettville yesterday, lightly raced gelding “Trouper’s Mill” grabbed the attention at our home town meeting at Seymour and continued the fabulous run by the “Jenal Australia” owned horses.

Coming off an excellent debut a fortnight earlier, the 3YO son of Niello was sent out the short priced favourite in the ‘Parkers Bros Earthmoving’ Maiden Plate over 1600m. Under jockey Cory Parish, the gelding was well placed behind the leaders before making his move into the race approaching the home turn. After angling for a run, the horse careered away over the final stages of the race for a comprehensive 2.25L margin on the line.

Bred and raced by the Brown family under Jenal Australia, “Trouper’s Mill”adds to their other recent 3YO winners, “Indelo & Proud Wolf” over the past fortnight.

Bred along staying lines, Co- Trainer Lee representing the team at Seymour yesterday said “He should have no trouble making the progression in distance and can handle all conditions which places him in a good position over the next few months.”
